The Religious Studies Department welcomes new faculty member, Daniel Heifetz

The Religious Studies Department welcomes new faculty member, Daniel Heifetz, who joins us as Lecturer. Dr. Heifetz started work on July 1 and has been hard at work all summer preparing new classes at Pitt and preparing to teach in the Flex@Pitt model. Dr. Heifetz is an expert on religions of South Asia who also studies intersections of religion and healthcare and science and embodied experiences of religion, especially in Asia. This fall, he is teaching Religions of Asia and Religion in India. In the spring, he is tentatively slated to introduce two new courses to our curriculum, "Health and Religion" and "Yoga: From Loinclothes to Lulemon."
